Visual concept
The concept centred on the sun, a defining element of the town’s summer atmosphere. The identity was intentionally restrained, using only yellow and a circular graphic device to represent the sun. A radiating sun-beam motif formed the core visual system and became the foundation for the entire season’s design.
Alongside the overarching identity, I designed the artwork for all twelve plays in the programme. The aim was to create a cohesive visual system that could be reused and adapted year after year, giving the festival a recognisable and enduring presence. The identity continues to be used today.

Copywriting
Copy and messaging drew heavily on the themes of summer, sunshine, and the sea, reflecting Sidmouth’s character as a classic English seaside town.
